London 2.0 - NFL Edition

I love to reflect. It’s a New Year. I’m in a wild new stage of my life. For the first time in my life I look out my bedroom window in the morning to freshly fallen snow and I’m constantly cold. I’m definitely not in Texas anymore.

Now that I’ve gotten to a place where I can rest it is time to reflect again.

Oddly enough, I wrote a piece on reflecting on my time in London last January. After 12 months I’m back to write a piece about… you guessed it… reflecting on London.

I went back to London this year for work. This year I was the Social Content Intern for the Denver Broncos. It was my first time working in the NFL it’s been a wild ride! (No, this isn’t a Russell Wilson joke)

When I went to London back in 2019 I went as a student with a passion for sports. I wanted to learn as much as I could and see what different directions I could take my career in within sport.

I travelled to London in 2022 with an entirely different purpose: a Broncos game. The Broncos were set to play against the Jaguars on October 30th at Wembley Stadium. I was extremely lucky to get to go as an intern and it is an experience that I will never forget. We were there for an entire week leading up to the game. That time was filled with practice, community events, sightseeing, pub going, and of course, a W at Wembley to top it all off.

My main goal aside from content planing & my day-to-day tasks as a social coordinator was to capture as much content as I could.

Aside from my usual stuff, I jumped into trying film photography for the first time since middle school, using my point and shoot to try to capture the essence of our time in London leading up to the game. Most film photos were taken at the Harrow School, Bankerboy & Barrow (the Official Broncos Pub, and some of the classic London sights. Below are some of my favorites.

So here is where the reflection starts: I have grown so much from London in 2019 to now. I have a clear path of what I want to do. I have grown exponentially as a person. I am more confident in my skills. I am much more passionate. I am proud of who I have become.

Going forward I want to make more content. I feel like I’m only starting to scratch the surface of my potential and the only way to get more creative is to be continuously creative.

I have grown so much this past year in my career thanks to so many people who have helped me along the way. I moved from San Antonio to Denver and I have no idea what comes next but I know that whatever I do I will continue to put my growth first. Whether it looks like scrapbooking on the weekends or finding new photo and video projects and techniques I am committed to my creative life moving forward. I love it and I want to continue applying myself creatively every day.
